CLEAN ENERGY NOT JUST A BUZZWORD ANYMORE: 2007 CLEAN ENERGY CONFERENCE BRINGS GREENTECH MAINSTREAM

Showcasing latest technologies, creative entrepreneurs, leading CEOs, investment trends and the employers who power the industry

(Boston, October 11, 2007) - The Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center (MTTC), the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition, and the MIT Enterprise Forum in conjunction with major sponsoring organizations, announce the third annual Conference on Clean Energy at the Hynes Convention Center, October 29-30, 2007.

This year's conference, the third annual event, brings together the latest technologies, leading CEOs, inventors and entrepreneurs who bring them to life, investment perspectives, and employers, all focused on accelerating the commercial success of their companies and the key issues facing the cleantech/greentech industry.

"It is no surprise that The Wall Street Journal recently wrote an article on children becoming the next major source of clean energy advocacy: cleantech and greentech is no longer an obscure discipline or a wild idea hatched in a lab,"  said Abigail Barrow of MTTC.  "This sector is ready for prime time: there are innovative ideas becoming operational as we speak, and the mission of the Conference on Clean Energy aims to bring those stories to life and help them succeed through our two-day event.

Keynote speakers of this year's event include Ian Bowles, Secretary, Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs of Massachusetts; Warren Leon, Director, Massachusetts Technology Collaborative Renewable Energy Trust; and Robyn Beavers, Director of Environmental Programs, Google.  Also invited is Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick.

The event showcases a wide range of technologies and companies through a series of panel discussions in three tracks: industry sector insights, investment opportunities, and academic perspectives.  Specific panels include Solar, Wind, Biofuels, Hydrogen & Fuel Cells, and Efficiency and Demand Response.  In addition, 18 new companies will present their plans to the audience.  For more information on the conference, including speakers and panel tracks, click here.

The exhibit hall, expanded this year, will be open for the entire conference.

This year's concurrent job fair, sponsored by the Energy Special Interest Group (ESIG) at the MIT Enterprise Forum, boasts employers from various exhibitors, each seeking a range of talented individuals across all company functions.  Read more about the CCE job fair.

"This year, a total of 50 companies are expected to exhibit at CCE, representing an increase of 56%," continued Brad Bradshaw, President of the Massachusetts Hydrogen Coalition and Velerity Management Consulting.  "We are thrilled to be in their presence and to turn exciting ideas into reality through key connections we make at the conference.
