MTTC Commercialization and Start-up Formation Course

The Massachusetts Technology Transfer Center offers  professional enrichment programs in "Technology Commercialization and Start-up Formation."

MTTC's customized training for groups from 4 to 20 people can be for a few days up to 2 weeks. MTTC's services include planning and coordinating the program's content; providing rooms for instruction and meetings; and taking participants on day trips to additional Massachusetts business areas.

Course participants reside in the vibrant Cambridge area with easy access to MIT and Harvard University.
    Participants gain knowledge of the development of efficient innovative University commercialization infrastructure and US intellectual property management; learn about business models of start-up companies including development of marketing strategy and obtaining investment.

 


    The course includes

  • seminars about Technology Transfer Basics,
  • visits to Tech Transfer offices of several universities,
  • visits to Incubators and Proof of Concept Centers, and
  • various networking events.

 

Workshops are used to train participants on

  • Negotiations,
  • pitch presenting, and
  • on-line resources.

Participants implement the new skills in a group and individual assignments consisting of reports and presentations.

 

 Participants meet with professionals from research institutions, start-ups, big companies, market analysis companies, entrepreneurs; investors, and non-profit organizations, which accelerate technology commercialization in MA.
    Upon successful completion of the Training Program, participants are provided a certificate of participation.

* MTTC staff member can provide interpreting from and to Russian and Hebrew during training sessions as necessary. For additional language requirements interpreters can be secured in the Boston area.
