The 4th Massachusetts Life Sciences Innovation (MALSI) Day  is the biggest day for life sciences startups and innovation in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. This is a high-energy, hands-on event which brings together scientific leaders and business experts to mingle with innovators, post-docs, professors, entrepreneurs, innovators, and venture capitalists.

Building Biotech Backward: What is in the secret sauce to a successful startup?  We believe the best way is to "build your biotech backwards" and consider how all the issues you will face in your successful company 5-10 years from now influence your ideas today. Our Panel will debate some of the big issues on "building biotech backwards" while brainstorming with your ideas to increase the chance of your startup becoming the next success story.

Participate at 9 Open Discussions that include Careers outside of Academia; Intellectual Property for Start-ups; Inside a VC firm; Hot Diseases; Partnering with Pharma/Medtech; Early money: Angels & Grants; How to start a Biotech company; Hot to start a Medtech company; and How to start a Diagnostics company.

Join us for the flagship event of life sciences in Massachusetts, jointly and actively put together by all the major organizations that are involved in starting and supporting the life sciences startup ecosystem in the Commonwealth.

The event's speakers include:

Nobel Laureate Sir Richard Roberts, SCO, New England Biolabs - opening keynote
Dr. Todd Zion, President and CEO, SmartCells Inc.  - lunch keynote
