In collaboration with the National Collegiate Inventors and Innovators Alliance (NCIIA), the MTTC will co-sponsor Invention to Venture workshops on a regular basis in Massachusetts.

Invention to Venture (I2V) is a program of the NCIIA with sponsorship from The Lemelson Foundation and the Kauffman Foundation. These workshops and conferences in technology entrepreneurship are designed for science and technology students and faculty as well as others from the university and business communities. The workshops are developed in collaboration with universities around the United States.

The introductory I2V teaches technology entrepreneurship basics, helps build networks and provides a framework for moving ideas forward. The MTTC will also collaborate with the NCIIA on specialized workshops and conferences.

Invention to Venture workshops are directed to:

• students and faculty interested in learning about technology entrepreneurship and how to commercialize research;
• members of the university community who are entrepreneurially ambitious;
• business people seeking connections with university students and faculty;
• investors seeking high growth potential companies;
• businesses seeking to identify new technology opportunities.
